New studies highlight confusion for consumers over HDTV


A new UK study says retailers are giving consumers misleading information about High Definition TVs reports The Guardian newspaper. UK media watchdog Ofcom found that four in 10 shoppers receive incorrect facts about high-def sets.

Samsung Introduces RSS into 2008 TV Lineup (CES 2008)


Samsung Electronics has announced a new RSS feed capability built in to its Series 6 and 7 LCD TVs. The Internet information services are enabled and updated through the HDTV’s Ethernet port.

Sony sells OLED TVs in the US (CES 2008)


Sony announced at CES this week that it is start selling super-thin television sets based on Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) technology. The company had previously announced sales only in Japan from the beginning of this year.

Panasonic Demonstrates Hi-Def from SD Card (CES 2008)


Panasonic has marked its 2008 CES press conference with the announcement of two new screen sizes – a 46-inch Plasma and a 37-inch LCD and demonstrated the new Viera’s ability to play up to 10 hours of HD content from a single SD card.
